Layers & size
Each added layer pair and every extra cm² adds material and process steps. Going from 2 to 4 layers typically raises cost 60–80%.
Order quantity
Tooling and setup are fixed per order, so the per-board price drops sharply as volume rises. Prototypes carry the highest unit cost.
Material & copper
High-TG, aluminum and Rogers cost more than standard FR-4, and heavier copper (2–3 oz) adds process time and price.
Surface finish
HASL is the economical default; ENIG (gold) adds a premium for fine-pitch and flatness. The calculator prices each instantly.
